In the 1st century: At the estuary of the Canau's river used to live some Gauls in their huts, who were chased away by the romans who built magnificent houses.

6th Century: A natural phenomenon forced an enormous amount of sand out of the water which created in turn the waters of the Médoc.

12th Century: Tallaris was evacuated during the rising of the waters. It seems that St Louis stopped off at the Port de Tallaris before reaching Bordeaux by Castelnau.

In 1764: The Médoc has only stretch of water left, skirting St Helene and Lege.

In 1884: Mr ORTAL, a house owner at Lacanau, puts down his desire in words to create a seaside resort on the coast.

In 1906: Villas start to appear on the sand, and for the first time the name of Lacanau appears on an official document.

In 1910: Inauguration of the Lacanau to Lacanau Ocean road.
